On 10 June 2024, Department of Science Service (DSS), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, with promising collaborations with Bureau of Laboratory Quality Standards, Department of Medical Science, Thai Industrial Standards Institute, Ministry of Industry and National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standards hosted an annual seminar for celebrating “World Accreditation Day 2024”. The seminar had been arranged, with taking a well-known theme called “Empowering Tomorrow and Shaping the Future” in mind. On this event, the hosts sought for broadcasting on the importance of accreditation to the public eyes. This collective work was simultaneously to raise an awareness of the need of such work in contributing the national development in a domains of economic and wellbeing. In fact, this can be seen as one of foundational pillars of the Thailand’s National Quantity Infrastructure important for further sustainability and development. At the beginning of the event, executives from each accreditation body warm welcomed all esteemed guests, as well as certificated accreditation bodies and other stakeholders associated with accreditation and its processes.

          Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, Director of DSS, said that accreditation has led Thailand to be very well prepared for dealing with potential disruptions and transformations, but not limits to climate changes, global economic competitions and labor marketplace in a timely manner. This work has contributed to sustainability and development of the country, as well as response to these challenges. The cutting-edge topics that had been brought into the discussion throughout the seminar have massively called audiences’attention on the future of accreditation and its influence on sustainability. Those topics included “accreditation and procedures” lectured by a Director of Bureau of Laboratory Accreditation, Mrs.Chantarat Vorasapavit, along with equally important aspects “metrological traceability” and “future food” which shared by Dr. Charan Yafa and Associate Professor Kunchit Judprasong, respectively.
