Responsibilities

• Conduct accreditation activities for testing and calibration laboratories both domestically and internationally, including coordination with foreign agencies and international organizations to achieve mutual recognition.
• Carry out the accreditation of laboratories based on the criteria, procedures, and conditions established by the Department of Science Service.
• Create and maintain a registry and capability index of laboratories to serve as foundational data for national laboratory development.
• Monitor and evaluate the competence of testing and calibration laboratories, proficiency testing providers, and reference material producers.
• Enhance the capacity of assessors, subcommittees on laboratory accreditation, accreditation committees, recognized laboratory competence committees, and personnel responsible for accreditation activities.
• Promote, support, and develop testing and calibration laboratories, proficiency testing providers, and reference material producers by offering technical advice and disseminating laboratory-related technical knowledge and public information.
• Collaborate with or support the operations of other relevant agencies or perform assigned duties.
