Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for Competence of Calibration Laboratory According to ISO/IEC 17011 Economy drives Thailand Economy

          On February 6, 2024, the Bureau of Laboratory Accreditation, Department of Science Service (BLA-DSS) provided seminar “Preparedness of Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for Competence of Calibration Laboratory According to ISO/IEC 17011”. The seminar was held on-site at Room 519, Floor 5, Analytic Chemistry Building, DSS and simultaneously, the seminar was broadcasted using Zoom Application to relevant stakeholders. The BLA Director, Mrs. Chantarat Vorasapavit, reported the rationale and objectives of the seminar toward the General Director, Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, saying that under a grant made by Asia Pacific Cooperation (APAC), BLA seeks for Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for Competence of Calibration Laboratory According to ISO/IEC 17011. With an aim of promotion of a competence of Thailand calibration laboratories, the seminar was arranged to deliver comprehensive knowledge at both operational and technical levels as well as process and requirements of MRA of competence of calibration laboratory according to the given international standard.

          The General Director, Dr. Rungrueng Kitphati, announced that DSS, as one of accreditation bodies, aims to promote Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for Competence of Calibration Laboratory According to Asia Pacific Cooperation (APAC). Given that the organisation seeks to increase the number of accredited calibration laboratory across the country and that enable to address the needs of business sectors. Therefore, the seminar was provided to fulfil these needs and hope that the attendees will gain knowledge and apply for daily operation in the laboratories, which consequently promote quality of service, product and made these globally recognised. There were more than 100 attendees in this seminar.
